“Our veterans fought and died to preserve the freedoms we enjoy as a nation,” said Brenna Gibson, president of the Women’s Republican Club. “We wanted to do this because we owe them everything, and we wanted to keep the money in our community.”

The money was raised at a Jingle & Mingle fundraising event the Women’s Republican Club held Dec. 5 at Rhoadhouse 56 in Circleville.

PICCA Executive Director Becky Hammond said the donation will help support Ohio House residents in their journey toward independence, as many enter the shelter with few personal belongings.

“We cannot thank the Women’s Republican Club enough,” Hammond said. “The donation will go a long way in repaying a debt of gratitude we owe all our veterans.”
